Skeleton Technologies Unveils Advanced BBU Solution for Data Centers with Acbel at OCP Global Summit 2025

Skeleton Technologies, a global leader in highpower energy storage, and Acbel Polytech Inc. (TWSE: 6282), a leading power supply solutions provider, jointly showcased an advanced AI Data center Solution at the Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit 2025 in San Jose, California.

The joint demonstration featured Skeleton's GrapheneGPU BBU, powered by Niobium SuperBattery technology, integrated with Acbel’s power system to deliver enhanced backup power performance for modern data centers.

Li-ion batteries, used in data centers for backup power, do not have enough power for modern AI data centers, and are prone to fires and thermal runaway, creating safety risks. To solve this, Skeleton is launching a Niobium-based Battery Backup Unit, GrapheneGPU BBU, at the Open Compute Global Summit in San Jose, California.

The collaboration takes advantage of Skeletons breakthrough Niobium SuperBattery technology, delivering a new class of BBU solutions for hyperscale and enterprise data centers. Skeleton, already supplying supercapacitor based solutions to hyperscalers, is also considering US expansion for its SuperBatteries.

Advantages of GrapheneGPU BBU include:
